Reflecting on 2025
As 2025 draws to a close we reflect on a year full of joy, festivities and change.
In March we opened our Swiss studio, with an exhibition of our continental European work to mark the occasion. Our team ventured out to Andermatt to celebrate, managing to find a little time for an early morning sledge run and some fondue in the mountains amidst all the exhibition preparations. To coincide with this, we published our first hardback book, featuring beautifully rich commissioned photography, models, illustrations and reflections from Director Jonathan Tuckey’s field notes.
In September we revealed our rammed earth Playscape as part of the British Ceramics Biennial in Stoke-on-Trent. The deeply collaborative site-specific installation was visited by 40,000 people over six weeks. Elsewhere, work continues on site for several projects in Italy, the Unites States, and the UK, with new commissions in Switzerland and Scotland.
We hosted four ‘Building on the Built’ lectures at our London studio, with Hawkins/Brown, SO-IL, Ed Hollis and Helga Blocksdorf giving fascinating presentations, with insight into the relationship between architecture and academia, respecting vernacular, challenges of working with birch bark and aspiring for the tangibility of a Star Wars film set among the topics of discussion.
Wool Hall won home transformation of the year at the British Home Awards, while our very own website received an Archiboo Award for best visual design. After much anticipation, Rammed Earth House was revealed in wider press and is currently shortlisted for the AR House Award, with the result announced later this month.
Many thanks to our wonderful team for an unforgettable year and here’s to more joy in 2026!
