Celebrating 25 years at Tuckey Design Studio

This week we celebrated the 25th anniversary of our practice with a retrospective exhibition at our London studio.

Thinking from the Built Up explored the five areas which shaped the studio – founding principles, collaborating with heritage, working in Europe, sustainable new buildings and diversification. Drawings, Illustrations, photography and models were on display, embodying our philosophy of reuse, ambition and challenging the status quo.

An opening night event was full of recreation and revelry, with live music by Acland Burghley School and refreshments supplied by Titch Hill and James Gin. The exhibition continued over the weekend as part of Open House London 2024.

The studio was established in 1999 on the principle of working with existing buildings at a time when the industry was fixated on starting from scratch. In the years following there has been a refreshing shift in public perception, alongside a concerted effort to utilise and improve the material that surrounds us.

Many thanks to all our clients and collaborators over the years, here’s to the next 25!
