We are pleased to open our 2026 social enterprise initiative for submissions!
Each year, we offer a pro-bono architectural feasibility study to one selected project, helping a deserving building or outdoor space move closer to reality. We are inviting primary schools across the UK to tell us about a space that could be transformed through thoughtful design.
Is there:
— An unused corner of the playground with untapped potential?
— A library, reading nook or classroom that needs re-imagining?
— A garden that could become an outdoor classroom?
We believe that the spaces children learn in profoundly shape their confidence, creativity, and sense of belonging. Even modest interventions can have a lasting impact.
What we are offering
For the selected project, we will provide, free of charge:
— A detailed consultation and creative workshop with your team
— An in-depth assessment of the building or site’s potential
— Proposed plans, layouts and elevations
— Design sketches, visualisations or a physical model to communicate the proposal clearly
Our aim is to give you a clear, inspiring vision that can support fundraising, grant applications, or future delivery.
Previous winners
Over the past 10 years, our open call has helped bring forward projects including:
— A modular archive installation for the Southbank Centre
— The remodelling of interiors at Acland Burghley School in north London
— A new school theatre for a primary school in Berkshire
— A dance studio for Lady Joanna Secondary School in Kent
Many of these studies have since helped schools and organisations secure funding and realise their projects.
If your school has a dream for a space, however big or small, we would love to hear about it. Please send us a short description of your project, along with any photographs or drawings that help explain the opportunity.
The deadline for submissions is 31st July 2026.
Please contact studio@tuckeydesign.com for submissions. Good luck!
